Looking for a stunning evening out with your family? If you live in the Northern Cape you
might have been frustrated with the limited amount of entertainment options available. But
that’s all about to change.
As the leading hotel brand in the Northern Cape, the Country Hotels is now leading
the live music and eventing space with a brand-new events portal and series of music
events featuring top artists.
Responding to the impact Covid-19 had on the livelihood of performing artists and local
community members, Country Hotels came up with a novel and very entertaining way to
stimulate growth in the region through partnership with local schools, artists and businesses.
The result is a series of music events hosted by Country Hotels across the region. The
events feature top performing artists such as Steve Hofmeyr, Demi Lee and Robbie Wessels
to name just a few. Each event allows schools to participate to raise funds, and local small
businesses and beverage brands to benefit from increased exposure and awareness on
event evenings.
“Yes, you can say these events are an absolute labour of love,” says Craig Carmichael,
Chief Operating Officer of Country Hotels. “We envisaged a platform that benefits everyone
in the community – from local businesses and beverage brands, to schools who are always
in need of funds. This platform will also act as a springboard to launch our local musicians
into the industry as they get to share the stage with well-known artists as opening acts. We
have such amazing talents in the region – all they need is that big break. And we’re giving it
to them.”
These family-friendly events happen monthly at select Country Hotels. The events are open-
air happening under what is arguably the most beautiful night skies in the country.
Night markets will accompany each show – allowing local businesses the opportunity to
showcase and sell their products, and local schools to raise funds by selling popcorn,
pancakes etc. Event days will feature the best food and beverage specials in town including
standard music festival fare such as burgers, boerewors rolls, ribs and corn dogs as well as
menu items from the hotel restaurants.
“The locals have spoken, and we have listened. We are proud to have created a platform
that benefits schools, businesses, artists and the local economy. And importantly – to bring
some music and top artists to the region! Northern Cape, it’s our time to shine” says
Carmichael.
Tickets are available from select schools in the region or be booked by selected hotels.
Tickets are limited per event, and with the high calibre of performers booked, it’s a good idea to secure your ticket in advance.
Ticket prices range from R120 to R250. All events start at 7pm with gates opening at 6pm.
For someone looking for an even more memorable evening out – limited VIP tickets will be
